Scholarship for Tanzania Students 2016 -Study in Japan
Scholarship by the Japanese Government
(Monbukagakusho: MEXT Scholarship Program)
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT; in Japanese "Monbukagakusho") of Japan offers Tanzanian students 4 types of scholarship to study at Japanese universities or colleges: Research students, Undergraduate Students, Specialized Training College Students and Japanese Studies Students.
For scholarship in 2016, follow the instruction below for each scholarship and apply by Friday 5th June 2015 either by post or by hand addressed to the culture section.

Tentative Schedule 2015-2016
5th June (Fri): Deadline for application
9th July (Thu) or 10th July (Fri): Paper examination and interview
24th July (Fri): Final interview
August: Applying to Japanese universities for receiving "Letter of Provisional Acceptance"
September: Submitting the "Letter of Provisional Acceptance" to the Embassy
January - March 2016: Announcement of final result
March 2016: Orientation and gathering with ex-MEXT scholars
First week of April(September/October) 2016: Departure to Japan
Research Students
*3-5 students sent to Japan annually
Duration: 2 Years (including 6 months of Japanese language training), extendable with permission from the university and Japanese Government (Duration will be extended accordingly to the length of course, Normally in Japan, Master courses are two years, PhD are three years (four years for medical, dentistry, veterinary and some pharmaceutical courses)).
Departure for Japan: First week of April or September / October 2016
Age: Applicant must have been born on or after 2 April 1981.
Qualification: Applicant must have graduated from undergraduate studies.

Undergraduate Students
Duration: 5 Years (including 1 year of Japanese language training) or 4 Years (without Japanese language training), 7 Years for medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine and pharmacy (with 6 years course) (including 1 year of Japanese language training)
Departure for Japan: First week of April 2016
Age: Applicant must have been born between 2 April 1994 and 1 April 1999.
Qualification: Applicant must have graduated from A Level Secondary School by March 2016.

Specialized Training College Students
Duration: 3 Years (including 1 year of Japanese language training)
Departure for Japan: First week of April 2016.
Age: Applicant must have been born between 2 April 1994 and 1 April 1999.
Qualification: Applicant must have graduated from A Level Secondary School by March 2016.

Japanese Studies Students
Recruitment will be done through the University of Dodoma for the students taking Japanese language course.
